Based in historic McCarthy Alaska, in the heart of what is now Wrangell St. Elias National Park, McCarthy Air owner-operator Gary Green has been flying the Wrangell Mountains since acquiring his private pilot's license in 1975.
In 1988 he founded McCarthy Air to serve increasing tourist air transportation needs resulting from the creation of the 14-million-acre park.
A permanent resident of McCarthy since 1973, Gary has mined gold, guided hunters and trapped in the Wrangells. Forever a student of local history and nature, Gary has a lifetime of stories and observations to relate.
Today, McCarthy Air specializes in safely flying hikers, mountaineers and rafters. We offer spectacular flightseeing tours over one of the wildest and most dramatic national park in the world.
